Chris Jones- Sales director

I am happily married and eagerly awaiting the arrival of our latest baby, bringing the total to 5, certainly doing my best to keep the Jones clan well populated! I am slightly older than Simon but not by much, but certainly a lot wiser!
I am a trained commercial and architectural photographer and spent the first eight years of my working life in the world of commercial photography. I chose then to move my career in a different direction and embarked on a career in the communications industry; I luckily decided to work in the mobile communications sector and entered the industry in 1984, just before the launch of the cellular infrastructure that we know and use so frequently today.
The mobile industry is ever changing, dynamic, exciting and rewarding and I have been fortunate to have worked in some of the most successful companies in various positions working with people with real flair and determination.
My career highlights have been:
Nokia Mobile Phones
Six years as Sales Director for Nokia Mobile Phones (UK) Limited. I had a very rewarding and enjoyable time at Nokia and joined the company at a time when it had little brand awareness in the U.K and at a time when the market was dominated by other global handset manufacturers. It was my job to change this position in the UK and I along with my highly talented team, developed key distribution channels, network relationships and unique routes to market; gaining Nokia market leadership in the UK.
The Caudwell Group
Managing Director; Phones 4U
Managing Director; Dextra Accessories
Managing Director; Caudwell International
I joined the Caudwell Group from Nokia Mobile Phones and had an extremely enjoyable career working in a highly driven and results orientated organisation. Phones 4U is now one of the largest independent specialist store groups in the country and Dextra is the industry leading mobile accessory supplier and distributor.
Cellular Operations Limited
I joined Cellular Operations as Sales Director just prior to a management buyout from Ford Motor Company. Cellular Operations became the second largest consumer service provider in the UK. The company had high aspirations for growth which I achieved and this facilitated the company acquisition of Cellular Operations by Vodafone.
